Bendigo, Adelaide Bank hike fixed rates

Non-majors continue to hike fixed rates.

Bendigo Bank and Adelaide Bank are the latest lenders to move their fixed rates.

Here are some of the changes in these two banks:

Bendigo Bank

  • Complete Home Loan Fixed P&I 3 yrs - up by 25bps to 2.79% p.a. (2.75% p.a. comparison rate)
  • Complete Home Loan Fixed IO 3 yrs - up by 50bps to 3.59% p.a. (3.06% p.a. comparison rate)
  • Investment Complete Home Loan Fixed P&I 3 yrs - up by 25bps to 2.99% p.a. (2.87% p.a. comparison rate)

Adelaide Bank

  • Investment SmartSaver Fixed P&I 3 yrs - up by 20bps to 2.75% p.a. (2.97% p.a. comparison rate)
  • Investment SmartSaver Fixed P&I 5 yrs - up by 40bps to 3.29% p.a. (3.15% p.a. comparison rate)
  • SmartFix P&I 3 yrs - up by 24bps to 2.64% p.a. (2.99% p.a. comparison rate)
  • SmartSaver Fixed P&I 3 yrs - up by 40bps to 2.64% p.a. (2.79% p.a. comparison rate)

Here are the other lenders which have made adjustments to their fixed and variable rates over the past week:

Gateway Bank

Customer-owned Gateway Bank made several changes to its fixed-rate loans for both owner-occupiers and investors.

Its biggest adjustment was for the Premium Investment Fixed 5 yrs IO 150k+, which had a 34bps increase to 3.39% p.a. (3.84% p.a. comparison rate)

Here are the other significant changes:

  • Investment Fixed 1 yr - down by 20bps to 2.89% p.a. (5.02% p.a. comparison rate)
  • Residential Fixed 1 yr - down by 20bps to 2.29% p.a. (4.10% p.a. comparison rate)
  • Residential Fixed 5 yrs - up by 19bps to 3.08% p.a. (3.94% p.a. comparison rate)
  • Premium Residential Fixed 3 yrs 150k+ - up by 23bps to 2.27% p.a. (3.33% p.a. comparison rate)

IMB

IMB made decreased its variable rate under the Essential Home Loan product line.

Discounted rates are available to both investors and owner-occupiers.

Here are some of the changes:

  • Essentials Home Loan P&I ≤70% - down by 26bps to 2.73% p.a. (2.69% p.a. comparison rate)
  • Essentials Home Loan IO ≤70% - down by 26bps to 2.43% p.a. (2.57% p.a. comparison rate)
  • Investment Essentials Home Loan P&I ≤80% - down by 20bps to 2.78% p.a. (2.97% p.a. comparison rate)
  • Investment Essentials Home Loan IO ≤80% - down by 20bps to 3.08% p.a. (3.09% p.a. comparison rate)

UBank

NAB-backed UBank increased its three- and five-year fixed rates under the UHomeLoan product by 40bps. Here are some of the new rates:

  • UHomeLoan Fixed P&I 3 yrs - 2.49% p.a. (2.29% p.a. comparison rate)
  • UHomeLoan Fixed P&I 5 yrs - 2.99% p.a. (2.53% p.a. comparison rate)
  • Inv UHomeLoan Fixed P&I 3 yrs - 2.64% p.a. (2.44% p.a. comparison rate)
  • Inv UHomeLoan Fixed P&I 5 yrs - 3.04% p.a. (2.64% p.a. comparison rate)

Great Southern Bank

Australia's largest customer-owned bank Great Southern Bank has updated its variable and fixed rates.

Here are the most substantial changes:

  • Basic Variable P&I ≤80% - down by 20bps to 2.19% p.a. (2.24% p.a. comparison rate)
  • Fixed P&I 3 yrs - up by 57bps to 2.59% p.a. (3.51% p.a. comparison rate)
  • Fixed P&I 5 yrs - up by 30bps to 2.89% p.a. (3.46% p.a. comparison rate)
  • Investment Fixed P&I 2 yrs - up by 40bps to 2.89% p.a. (3.95% p.a. comparison rate)
  • Investment Fixed P&I 3 yrs - up by 34bps to 2.69% p.a. (3.85% p.a. comparison rate)

Auswide Bank

Auswide Bank made up to 20bps increase to its residential and investment fixed rates. Below are some of the new rates:

  • Freedom Package Fixed P&I 3 yrs ≤75% Special - 2.29% p.a. (2.72% p.a. comparison rate)
  • Freedom Package Investment Fixed P&I 3 yrs ≤75% Special Offer - 2.49% p.a. (2.91% p.a. comparison rate)

86 400

86 400 rolled out substantial increases in its fixed rates, with its Own Home Loan Fixed IO 5 yrs, which now has an interest rate of 3.59% p.a. (3.03% p.a. comparison rate), representing a 55bps increase.

Here are the other notable changes:

  • Own Home Loan Fixed P&I 3 yrs 80-85% - up 50bps to 2.99% p.a. (3.08% p.a. comparison rate)
  • Investment Own Home Loan Fixed P&I 5 yrs - up 40bps to 3.39% p.a. (3.19% p.a. comparison rate)
